The Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows are hosting two Advent events in December at Our Lady of Peace Retreat House in Beaverton. Join us for the Annual Advent Day Retreat with Bishop Peter Smith on the theme: “Making Advent Meaningful” on Wed. Dec. 2nd from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Retreat Chapel. We have reached our capacity for “in house” retreatants. However, we are offering a virtual option to this retreat on Zoom at no cost. Interested retreatants must register online at www.olpretreat.org to attend the retreat via Zoom. Come to our Advent Twilight Talk “In-Person” with Catholic Speaker Dina Marie Hale on Wed. Dec. 9th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Retreat Chapel. The event includes a Twilight Talk on the theme: “A Trek to Tepeyac Hill with Saint Juan Diego” followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Light refreshments will be offered and the Catholic Bookstore and Gift Shop will be open. Due to physical distance guidelines registration is limited to 30 persons. The latest editions of the CATHOLIC SENTINEL AND THE WORD AMOUNG US are now available at the Church entrance and on the front porch of the rectory. CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - Thank you for your generous support last week for the collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development! As a parish, we raised $182 to support those on the margins who are living in poverty in the United States. If you missed the collection, it's not too late to give! Today, they pray for an aching world. Yet years of serving for little or no pay have left their religious communities without enough retirement savings. Once again we will need each person who would like to attend either of the weekend Masses to sign up by PHONE OR EMAIL. We are suspending our online sign up for the time being so that we can let you know if you are one of the first 25, or not. Sunday, December 6, 2020 Sacred Heart-St. Louis Parish 485 7th Street, Gervais 11 a.m to 2:00 p.m. Full dinner $12 Dinner includes 1/2 BBQ chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, dinner roll and a slice of pie (apple or berry). Also available: 1/2 chicken $8/each Quarts of coleslaw $5/each Due to the current circumstances, our auction will look a little different than in years past. We will be hosting an online auction that will open for bidding on January 30th and close on February 7th. McKillip’s Catering will be providing to-go style dinners on February 6th. We will have more information on how to register to bid online, purchase dinner tickets, and a website in the coming weeks. Please start thinking about ways to contribute to this year’s event.

**Fresh Sunkist Oranges from the San Joaquin Valley in California - $25/15lb. box. **Rio Star Grapefruit grown in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas - $25/20lb. box. The SPHS Grad Night Committee invites you to pre-order fresh, healthy citrus fruits and support the Class of 2021. Buy some delicious fruit for yourself, your family, friends, co-workers, and/or employees. These will come in around the 10th of December and would make great Christmas gifts! To order, follow the instructions below or contact a parent of a senior! Make checks payable to: SPHS Grad Night Fund. Orders: Due by Friday, November 20, 2020 and payment can be dropped off at or mailed to the high school. If you are dropping off in person, please use the drop box on the wall by the front office. Your money should be in an envelope with your name and order on it. If you are mailing in an order, please mail to: SPHS Grad Night Fund, 20449 Main St. NE, St. Paul, OR 97137. Pick up: The date is “to be determined” but will be approximately the second week in December. Watch for an announcement for the exact date and time! The pick up location will be at the covered area at the elementary school. Masks and social distancing will be required. The first class is this Sunday, October 18th at 10 AM in the school's library. This first class will be primarily an orientation.
